What does it mean to Send?

We all have different roles in God's mission.  Those roles change throughout our lives.  Sending is a vital part of making the mission of God happen.  At Grand Parkway, we have a simple way for you to be involved in sending missionaries...making it so that their call to "Go" is filled with prayer and support and encouragement from the homefront.  After you read about these families, pray about becoming a Care Partner. You will not believe the difference your prayers, emails and interest can make to them.  To find out more, email .

Bart and Heather Carty in Central America

Bart and Heather, along with their daughter, are members of Grand Parkway and have been called to God's mission in Central America. Bart is overseeing the maintenance and future construction of the Equipping Center as well as helping the teams that come to serve in the various projects. Heather is supporting Bart in this role with Answering the Call as well as being a wife and mother and serving in various capacities with ATC as needs arise and God directs.

Jeff and Rebecca Epley in South Asia

The Epley's serve in South Asia along with their three children and one due in August 2009.  Their ministry is to the 22 million Muslims in their area.  They look to find Muslim Background Believers and partner with them to facilitate a church plant.  They have seen a tremendous response to the truth and love of Jesus over the past year.  They live in a very sensitive area of the world where the government is fairly hostile to Christianity.

The "G" Family in Central Asia

The "G" family and their 4 children live in Central Asia.  Their role is to support and direct other missionaries in that area and as a family, to build relationships with neighbors and friends in order to share the gospel with them.  As director over many missionaries, their ministry covers a vast amount of territory.  Many of the countries in that area have governments which are closed and hostile to the Gospel.  This makes it vital that their name and location not be published so that their family is protected and their ministry is not jeopardized.

Carl and Debbie Peklenk in South Carolina

Carl and Debbie have been missionaries to Russia. Their ministry, through TEAM, was to establish churches in Russia by training a new generation of church planters in the former Soviet Union. They have two precious children, Stevie and Julianne, who were adopted from Russia. They are now back in the States on medical leave. Carl will continue his work with TEAM as a recruiter. His efforts will be focused at Columbia International University and surrounding regional churches in South Carolina.

Norm and Fran West serving the Turks in Houston, Texas

Norm and Fran, members of our church, are former missionaries to Turkey.  After returning to the States, they located in Houston, which has one of the largest Turkish populations in our country.  Their ministry is to reach this "unreached people group" located right here among us with the truth and hope of Jesus Christ.  The Wests have a profound passion for this group of people, a passion we all should have for the lost we encounter every day.
